The Legislative Branch consists of Congress and its job is to make the nation's laws. This branch is split into two places: House of Representatives and the Senate and both do the same jobs. Their meetings, sessions, begins on the first week of January. Also, they mostly discuss about taxes and bills within the House Ways and Means Committee and can declare war.
House of Representatives: The H.O.R is the larger congressional house consisting of 435 members. Members of this house have to be at least 25 years old, live in the state they were elected in, and be a U.S. citizen for seven years. These are the requirements to become a Representative. Also, they serve two-year terms.

The Senate: The Senate consists of two senators of every state. Requirements of becoming a senator is that you need to be at least 30, be a U.S. citizen for nine years, and live in the state they represent. They also serve six-year terms. Furthermore, the vice president serves into the president of the Senate.
