Popular Sovereignty is the idea that political authority belongs to the citizens. This planned to protect the rights each man posses, but also have a strong national government. This idea was held within the first three words of the preamble, "We the people". what this shows is that people establish the power and give it to the government and they can only govern with the people's consent.
